JULY 1 to 31, 2009 

TO commemorate George Town's listing as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage city,the Penang state government will organise a cultural performance at the Esplanade on July 1 to kick start a month-long cultural heritage celebrations. The highlights are held on Saturday & Sunday, July 25 - 26. 

Community groups are staging performances, arts and crafts this year. The streets and historic monuments are their theatre sets. The idea is to walk about the city from one alfresco performance to another. Free admission to almost all the performances and venues.
