Penang Kuan Yin Pavillion
THE Kek Lok Si temple is an icon in Penang. Devotees and tourist throng the temple which houses the pagoda. In 2002, a huge statue of the Goddess of Mercy or Kuan Yin was erected. Recently, a pavilion was built to shelter the statue. On December 6, 2009, the 20-storey pavilion was officially opened by monks from all over the world and also local dignitaries.
